ETTRICK, Va. – Lincoln suffered a double header sweep on the road to Virginia State University on Sunday, March 29th.The Lady Lions loss game one 21-0 and game two12-2.
Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) led off the action against Virginia State with a single followed by a stolen base. 
Mariah Russell (St. Louis, MO/Maplewood Richmond Heights HS) also singled in the first inning but the VSU defense threw out Woodruff at the plate. The Lady Trojans then scored two runs off of two hits in the bottom of the inning taking the early lead. Lincoln's 
Amber Cale (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) led off the second inning with a single and also followed with a stolen base. The LU batters were unable to get anything going and were held scoreless.
In the second inning VSU exploded for 12 runs on seven hits and one error. They added two runs in the third inning and five runs in the fourth inning to down Lincoln 21-0. Pitcher 
Danielle Owes (Edgewater Park, NJ/Burlington County Institute) struck out four batters while tossing three ground outs and three flyouts.
