RICHMOND, Va. – Junior 
Kyra Orton (Detroit, MI/Renaissance HS) posted a season-high 20 digs in a 3-0 (25-6, 25-14, 25-21) loss to Virginia Union University on Monday, October 26
th on the road. 
Virginia Union had a solid showing at home in the final meeting of the season against the Lady Lions. The Panthers had 12 team kills with no errors in set one and then exploded for 17 kills in set two. Lincoln struggled with only three kills in set one with eight errors but improved in the next set with seven. 
Senior 
Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) had three kills in set two while sophomore 
Mariah Russell (St. Louis, MO/Maplewood Richmond Heights HS) added two kills. Lincoln loss the second set 25-14. In the third set the Lady Lions only had one team error with ten kills. Defensively, 
Kyra Orton (Detroit, MI/Renaissance HS) tallied 11 digs in that set alone. Virginia Union overcame the Lincoln comeback with 21 team kills in a 25-21 win to straight set the Lady Lions 3-0. 
Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) and Maria Russell both finished with five kills apiece while senior 
Toni Smith (New Castle, DE/William Penn HS) added four kills. Junior 
Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) finished with 15 assists and 
Kyra Orton (Detroit, MI/Renaissance HS) had 20 digs to pace the defense. The Lady Lions fall to 5-9 overall and 4-7 in CIAA play while the Panthers move to 8-9 overall and 6-4 in CIAA play. 
Lincoln will host a CIAA Volleyball Round-Up this weekend in Manuel Rivero Hall featuring Virginia Union, Bowie State, Fayetteville State, Shaw, and St. Augustine's on Saturday and Sunday.
