Kayla Butts (Lansdowne, PA/Bonner Prendie Catholic HS) netted her third goal of the season in a 15-1 loss for the Lady Lions against Mississippi Valley State on Sunday, October 25
th.
Mississippi Valley State fired 41 shots against the Lincoln defense with 29 shots on goal. LU goalkeeper
Kaylee Dennis (Ashburn, VA/Broad Run HS) finished with 14 saves marking her fifth game this season with ten or more saves.
The Lady Lions had five shots against MVSU with senior
Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) leading the attack with two attempts. Senior
Audrey Smylie (Baltimore, MD/Western HS) and sophomore
Taylor Brantley (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick HS) fired kicks at the MVSU goalie forcing two second half saves.
Kayla Butts (Lansdowne, PA/Bonner Prendie Catholic HS)' goal came in the 61
st minute of action. She recovered the ball from the MVSU defender and then broke away in a one-on-one attempt with the goalie. Butt found the upper right hand corner of the end zone for Lincoln's only score in a 15-1 defeat.
Lincoln drops to 2-12 overall while Mississippi Valley State moves to 10-7-1. The Lady Lions will close out their 2015 season at home on Thursday, October 29
th at 4 p.m. against Wilmington University.
