The two teams last met in 2014 in Ettrick, VA when the Trojans defeated the Lions 63-7. Lincoln trails Virginia State in the all-time series 11-0 and will look to put an end to a current three game losing streak after falling to Elizabeth City State University on the road in their previous game, 28-10. Stephen Scott (Baltimore, MD/Bethel College) leads the CIAA with 1,018 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. Virginia State's Trenton Cannon follows Scott with 879 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns.
SERIES/LAST MEETING: This will be the 12th meeting between the Lions and Trojans dating back to 1933. Virginia State won the last meeting 63-7 in Ettrick, Va. The Trojans won the last 11 meetings .
LIONS AT HOME: The Lions are 1-2 in the 2015 season playing at home. Lincoln loss 28-24 to Alderson Broaddus in the home opener, but bounced back defeating Shaw 20-10 opening CIAA play. Then on Homecoming LU suffered a 66-27 defeat to Virginia Union.
LU LEADS CIAA IN SEVERAL TEAM CATEGORIES: Lincoln leads the CIAA in third down conversions (42-115), rushing attempts (346), field goal % (85.7%), defensive touchdowns (5), and time of possession per game (35:11). The Lions rank second in rushing touchdowns (14), rushing first downs (69), field goals (6-7), and penalty yards (335).
LINCOLN INDIVIDUAL LEADERS AMONGST CIAA: Stephen Scott (Baltimore, MD/Bethel College) leads the CIAA in four statistical categories; rushes (233), yards (1,018), yards per game (145.4), and touchdowns (10).
Brett Arkelian (Clovis, CA) leads the CIAA in field goal percentage (83%). He ranks second in field goals made (5) and fifth in points (28).
Kevin Norris (Philadelphia, PA/Germantown HS) leads the CIAA in interceptions returned for touchdown (2) and ranks third in interceptions (3).
Solomon Bassett (Forth Worth, TX/Boswell HS) leads the CIAA in fumble return for touchdowns (1) and ranks second in fumble recoveries (2).
Brion Robinson (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) ranks third in the CIAA in interceptions (3) and fourth in interceptions returned for touchdown (1).
