Taylor Brookins (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township HS) scored the game winning goal with 13 seconds left in regulation as the Lady Lions defeated Chowan University at home, 1-0 on Wednesday, September 30
th.
The Lady Lions and Hawks went scoreless for 89 minutes of action. Lincoln led the shots on goal 8-2 with freshman
Kayla Butts (Lansdowne, PA/Bonner Prendie Catholic HS) and junior
Tamara Greene (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway HS) each firing two attempts. In the first period Lincoln forced Chowan into four save opportunities. LU goalkeeper
Kaylee Dennis (Ashburn, VA/Broad Run HS) recorded one save in each of the period finishing with her first shutout of the season.

Taylor Brookins (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township HS) up for a great shot at the Hawks defense. Brookins used her speed obtaining an advantage on the defender as she fired a shot that hit the right-backside of the net. That was her first goal of the season lifting Lincoln to their first win of the season, 1-0 over Chowan.
Lincoln improves to 1-7 overall and will hit the road on October 5
th for their next game against Washington Adventist at 4 p.m. in Takoma Park, MD.
