LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Junior 
Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) finished with a game-high 21 assists in a Lincoln 3-0 straight set sweep over rival Cheyney University on Wednesday, September 30
th in Manuel Rivero Hall. 
Lincoln avenged a 3-2 loss in their season-opener against the Wolves. The Lady Lions won the first set 25-14, then 25-17 in the second set, and closed out the game 25-15 in the third set. 
The Lady Lions posted their second best attack percentage of the season in a non-conference matchup against Cheyney with .134. Lincoln connected on 28 total kills with 
Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) pacing her team with 21 assists. Sophomore 
Mariah Russell (St. Louis, MO/Maplewood Richmond Heights HS) carried the offense with eight kills including three kills in both the first and second sets. Senior 
Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) added seven kills leading Lincoln to a 25-15 win in the third set with four kills. 
Defensively, Lincoln held a 54-50 advantage in digs over Cheyney. Senior 
Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) tallied a team-high 16 digs while 
Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) had 11 and junior 
Kyra Orton (Detroit, MI/Renaissance HS) finished with ten digs. 
Lincoln will host a CIAA Round-Up this weekend. St. Augustine's, Shaw, Fayetteville State, Virginia Union, and Bowie State will compete in Manuel Rivero Hall.
