LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Junior
Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) led the Lady Lions with 16 points along with five assists in a 72-63 home victory over Winston-Salem State University on Saturday, January 3 in Manuel Rivero Hall.
Lincoln made 42% (23-54) of their shots from the field and converted on 63% (24-38) of their free-throws. Defensively, the Lady Rams was forced into 28 turnovers and were held to 36% (20-55) from the field. LU's

Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) was 6-of-8 and junior
Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) was 5-of-8 from the line for the Lady Lions. Lincoln also won the rebounding battle 45-32 including 21 offensive rebounds.
Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) had a game-high six rebounds and finished with 11 points. Clark also had three steals and three assists against the Lady Rams.
The Lady Lions bench was sparked by
Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) and sophomore
De'jah Taylor (Nanuet, NY/Paramus Catholic Regional). Pam finished with 12 points and five rebounds while Taylor scored ten points and added four rebounds. Lincoln outscored Winston-Salem State's bench 30-25 and led for the majority of the game.
WSSU trailed 36-30 at the half, but battled back and led 44-43 at the 11:20 mark in the second half.
Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) responded with her only three-pointer of the night putting Lincoln back on top. The Lady Lions advantage grew to 14 (72-58) with 21-seconds left in regulation as Lincoln downed Winston-Salem State 72-63.
This was the second Lady Lions victory over the Lady Rams, but first regular season victory against their CIAA foe. Lincoln improves to 9-2 overall and 1-0 in the CIAA while Winston-Salem State drops to 4-7, 0-1 CIAA.
Lincoln will host Livingstone College on Monday, January 5
th at 5:30 p.m. in Manuel Rivero Hall in their next game.
