BOWIE, Md. – Lincoln outscored the Lady Bulldogs in the second half (38-26) rallying from a six point halftime deficit to down Bowie State 56-50 on Saturday, January 17
th in A.C. Jordan Arena.
Playing in their fourth consecutive road game the Lady Lions got off to a strong 6-0 lead in the opening six minutes of action. Bowie State battled back and went on an 18-6 run by the 4-minute mark. Lincoln was held to 7-of-29 (24-percent) shots from the field while Bowie State started 45% (9-of-20). Senior
Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds in the opening half. Pam led the Lady Lions bench production and senior
Courtney Lucas (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) added four points for the LU starters. Lincoln trailed 24-18 at the half.

Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) gave the Lady Lions their first lead since early in first half with 2:21 left in regulation. She forced a late Bowie State turnover and went coast-to-coast for the basket giving LU the 48-46 lead. On the next possession,
Courtney Lucas (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) knocked down a jumper extending the lead to 50-46 with just under two minutes to play. Junior
Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS),
Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS), and
Courtney Lucas (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) all made free-throws with under a minute putting the Lions ahead. Clark's free-throws came after she recorded her fourth steal of the game with 20 seconds left and gave the Lady Lions a 54-50 advantage. Lincoln's defense held Bowie State scoreless for the final 50-seconds of the game and won 56-50.
Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) finished with 20 points and 14 rebounds. She made 10-of-16 free-throws reaching her fourth double-double game this season.
Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) followed with 17 points, seven rebounds, and five steals.
Courtney Lucas (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) was the other Lady Lion to reach double figures with ten points. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Donia Naylor's 20 points and game-high 17 rebounds. Bowie State falls to 7-9 overall, with a 2-5 conference record, and 0-1 in the CIAA Northern Division.
The Lady Lions move to 12-4 overall, with a 4-2 conference record, and 1-0 CIAA Divisional record. Lincoln returns home for a CIAA Northern Divisional matchup against Elizabeth City State University on Wednesday, January 21
st at 5:30 p.m. in Manuel Rivero Hall.
