MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The Lions offense passed for 348 total yards against Montclair State led by senior quarterback
Doug Cook (Dania Beach, FL/University School of Nova SE University). Lincoln suffered their first road loss of the season 27-14 to the Red Hawks on Saturday, September 20.

Kenneth Faulcon (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen HS) and finished with 348 total passing yards.
In the first quarter at the 2:51 mark, Cook saw a wide-open Faulcon from 38-yards out and put the Lions on the board. Faulcon beat the Red Hawks defense once again in the second quarter and caught a 27-yard strike from Cook with just under two-minutes remaining in the half tying the game, 14-14. Montclair State answered the Lions touchdown with a late score of their own taking a 21-14 lead at halftime.
Doug Cook (Dania Beach, FL/University School of Nova SE University) completed 14-of-25 pass attempts for 176 yards to six different receivers in the opening half. Lincoln held Montclair State to 114 passing yards but gave up 129 rushing yards. The Lions collected 12 first downs and averaged 5.06 yards per play against the Red Hawks.
A fourth and final touchdown sealed a Red Hawks home victory over the Lions with 4:11 left to play in the third quarter. Lincoln had a difficult time stopping the Montclair State offense and failed to find the endzone on any possession in the second half. Montclair State held on to their lead as Lincoln suffered their second loss of the season, 27-14.
Defensively,
Brion Robinson (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) led the Lions with nine tackles including eight solo stops. Robinson also had two tackles for a loss while
Lorenzo Adams (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington HS) and
James Thomas (Los Angeles, CA/Oaks Christian Academy) each had a tackle for a loss.
Akeem Jordan (Washington, DC/Carroll HS) caught a career-high 14 receptions totaling 116 yards in the air against the Red Hawks.
Larquise Hobbs (Lansing, MI/J.W. Sexton HS) tied a career-high with five receptions and posted a career-high 73 receiving yards while
Kenneth Faulcon (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen HS) scored the Lions only touchdowns of the afternoon.
Stephen Scott (Baltimore, MD/Bethel College) rushed for 58 yards on eight carries and had a long of 20 yards.
Doug Cook (Dania Beach, FL/University School of Nova SE University) completed 70% of his attempts connecting with seven different receivers. Cook threw for 348 total yards and completed 33-of-47 attempts.
The Lions fall to 1-2 and will travel to Raleigh, NC to open up CIAA play against Shaw University.
