Shawn Hanlon begins his first year as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at The Lincoln University. He joins the staff with two years of professional experience as a Certified athletic trainer. Shawn previously worked as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Delaware where he worked with field hockey, women's track & field, and men's and women's tennis. He has also worked with the Special Olympics as an ATC at the 2014 National Games.
Shawn received his Master's degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Delaware in 2014 and his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Rowan University in 2012. He was honored with the Rowan University Athletic Training Leadership Award and National Athletic Trainer's Association Bobby Gunn Student Leadership in 2012.
Shawn is certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) and is a licensed athletic trainer by both the Pennsylvania Board of Medical Examiners and the Delaware Examining Board of Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers. He has previously served as the Delaware Athletic Trainers' Association (DATA) Webmaster (2012-2014), New Jersey state representative on the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association (EATA) Student Delegation (2010-2012) and EATA Student Program Chair in 2012. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association (EATA), and the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Society (PATS).
