Box Score 2 LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – Lincoln suffered a double header sweep by Virginia State on Wednesday, April 2
nd at the LU Softball Field. 
The Lady Lions were shutout 20-0 in game one of the double header against Virginia State. Lincoln's 
Kyla Sead (West Haven, CT/Hill Regional Career Magnet HS) struck out two batters but gave up nine hits. Catcher 
Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) and infielder 
Jasmine Dabney (Baltimore, Md./New Town HS) both drew walks for the Lady Lions. 
Virginia State had six runs in the first inning, six runs in the second inning, four runs in the third inning, and four runs in the fourth inning. 
In the later game, 
Toni Smith (New Castle, DE/William Penn HS) led the offense with two hits and an RBI in a 26-4 loss to the Lady Trojans. 
Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) also had two hits at the plate and then pitched four innings in relief of starter 
Kyla Sead (West Haven, CT/Hill Regional Career Magnet HS). 
Lincoln trailed 14-0 heading into the bottom of the third inning to Virginia State. The Lady Lions turned five hits plus a defensive error by VSU into four runs. Outfielder 
Chauntel Seymour (Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck HS) led the inning off by reaching on a throwing error. 
Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) singled to left field next to add two runners and then infielder 
Alanna Van Ness (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway HS) blasted a double to center field scoring Seymour for LU's first runs of the game. Woodruff was brought home by a sacrifice fly out to  left field by infielder 
Avree Morton (Uniondale, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS) cutting into the VSU lead. 
Toni Smith (New Castle, DE/William Penn HS) kept the momentum rolling with an RBI single up the middle scoring 
Alanna Van Ness (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway HS) for the third run of the inning. Outfielder 
Averri Glenn (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway HS) singled to the pitcher while infielder 
Jasmine Dabney (Baltimore, Md./New Town HS) hit a shot to left field for an RBI scoring Smith. Virginia State held off the Lady Lions for the remaining of the inning and then went on to score eight runs in the fourth inning and four runs in the fifth inning to down Lincoln 26-4. 
Lincoln drops to 0-11 and 0-9 in CIAA play. The Lady Lions will host Bowie State University on Saturday, April 5
th for a double header starting at 12 p.m.
