LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Senior
Alonzo Murphy (Pittsburgh, PA/California University (PA)) recorded a double-double finishing with a career-high 21 points and ten rebounds lifting the Lions to a 95-88 CIAA victory over Johnson C. Smith University on Tuesday, December 2.
Lincoln made six shots from long range in the first half against the Golden Bulls led by freshman
Jordan Watson (Philadelphia, PA/Springside Chestnut Hill Academy). Watson was 5-of-7 from the field scoring 13 first half points. The Lions held the Golden Bulls to 14% (1-7) from three-point land and forced into 12 turnovers. Lincoln found their groove on both ends of the court opening up a 22 point lead with 1:38 left in the half in a dominating fashion. Junior
Chaz Sharp (Baltimore, MD/Xavier University of Louisiana) carried the LU bench with seven points along with junior
Rysheen Dorn (Philadelphia, PA/A.S.A. College)'s five points and five rebounds.
The Lions held on to a double-digit lead over the Golden Bulls for majority of the second half. JCSU improved hitting six three-pointers in the second half and shot 72% (24-33) from the field.
By the 7-minute mark, the Golden Bulls came storming back reducing the Lions advantage to nine points (76-67). Lincoln's senior

Murphy scored 15 second half points and grabbed five rebounds. Johnson C. Smith played an aggressive second half outscoring Lincoln 59-47. The Lions shot 69% (18-26) from the charity stripe in the second half and held on for a 95-88 CIAA victory over Johnson C. Smith University.

Lincoln improves to 4-4 overall and 1-0 in CIAA play. The Lions will hit the road for three games closing out the 2014 portion of their schedule. Lincoln heads to Cheyney University on Saturday, December 6
