WILMINGTON, De. – Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) scored a career-high 25 points in a heartbreaking 90-87 road loss to Goldey-Beacom College on Monday, December 15
th.
The Lady Lions got off to a slow start on the road against the Lightning and were trailing by as much as 12 points in the first half. Goldey-Beacom used their home court advantage and shot a high percentage from the field. The Lightning was 46% (15-32) from the field and 57% (8-of-14) from three-point land against Lincoln controlling the pace.
Junior
Lisa Saunders (Hampton, VA/Hampton HS) ended a 14-2 run by the Lightning at the 8:27 mark with her first three-pointer of the evening cutting the GBC advantage to 31-22. The Lady Lions made five shots from long range and held a 26-20 rebounding advantage in the opening half. Junior

Lisa Saunders (Hampton, VA/Hampton HS) led the Lady Lions bench with eight points. At the half, Goldey-Beacom led 49-43 over Lincoln.
Freshman
Teira Pendleton (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) and
Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) sparked the Lady Lions in the first five minutes of the second half with several made shots. Pendleton scored a pair of baskets while Clark gave the Lady Lions their first lead of the second half at the 15:30 mark. Clark forced a steal and went coast-to-coast for the layup (55-54). The duo ignited a 15-4 run over the next six minutes and LU led (66-58) with 11 minutes left in regulation.
Junior
Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) gave the Lady Lions a double digit lead (76-65) with 5:18 left after a made three-pointer. But the Lightning battled back and tied the game (82-82) with 1:49 on the clock. Sophomore
De'jah Taylor (Nanuet, NY/Paramus Catholic Regional) responded for the Lady Lions after GBC took the lead with 47 seconds left and tied the game (84-84). The Lightning converted on a pair of free-throws with 28 seconds to pull ahead and added on another pair of made attempts from the line with seven seconds left for an 88-84 advantage.
Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) hit a running three-pointer leaving one second on the clock but Goldey-Beacom sealed the victory with two more free-throws and defeated the Lady Lions 90-87.

Lincoln falls to 6-2 after their second road loss of the season. The Lady Lions are back in action on Sunday, December 21 at Mansfield University.
