MANSFIELD, Pa. – Courtney Lucas (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) recorded her first double-double of the season in a 70-58 road victory at Mansfield University on Sunday, December 21^st. Lucas scored ten points and had ten rebounds leading Lincoln.

The Lady Lions defense held Mansfield to 33% (20-59) shooting from the field while winning the rebounding battle 40-34. Lincoln used a balanced scoring attack breaking out to a double digit lead by the 9-minute mark of the first half and held on to the advantage for the rest of the contest. The pair of Courtneys' on the Lady Lions team paced them in scoring combining for 15 first half points. Junior Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) had eight points after making both of her shot attempts from three-point land and senior Courtney Lucas (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) had seven points and also made a three-pointer. Courtney Lucas (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) grabbed five early rebounds and junior Lisa Saunders (Hampton, VA/Hampton HS) had two steals as the Lady Lions led 38-25 at the half.

Lincoln continued to dominate throughout the second half behind 13 made free-throws. Lisa Saunders (Hampton, VA/Hampton HS) made three while four others made a pair each with Lincoln shooting 59% (13-22) from the charity stripe. Saunders led the Lady Lions with seven points in the second half and senior Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) scored six points both off of the Lady Lions bench. In her first action of the season, senior Alaysia Washington (Washington, DC /Friendship Collegiate Academy) made a pair of free-throws giving LU their biggest lead of the game (59-38) with 8:39 left in regulation. Mansfield dropped to 1-10 overall record while Lincoln improves to 7-2 after a 70-58 road victory for the Lady Lions.   

Five reached double figure scoring led by juniors Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) and Lisa Saunders (Hampton, VA/Hampton HS) 11 points each. Courtney Lucas (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) and Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) along with Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) finished with ten points apiece. Lucas recorded her first double-double of the season adding ten rebounds to her ten points. Junior Lennee Kimbell had a career-best four steals and sophomore Jailen Murphy (Nashville, TN/Brentwood Academy) had a career-best four assists.

Lincoln will host Alderson Broaddus University on Tuesday, December 30^th at 4 p.m. in their next game.
