PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The women's soccer team at The Lincoln University closed their 2014 season against Alderson-Broaddus on Thursday, October 30
th. Sophomore
Christian Harris (Rochester, NY/The Aquinas Institute) scored a goal in the 14
th minute, but the Lions fell 5-1 to the Battlers.
Lincoln took an early lead in their season finale against Alderson-Broaddus. Sophomores
Alanna Van Ness (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway HS) and
Christian Harris (Rochester, NY/The Aquinas Institute) hooked up for a goal in the 14
th minute of action. Van Ness recorded her second assist of the season setting Harris for her fifth goal of the season.
Christian Harris (Rochester, NY/The Aquinas Institute) led the Lions attack with three shots on goal, but the Battlers outshot Lincoln 27-4. Junior
Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) anchored the defense with nine saves at goalie in a 5-1 loss. Alderson-Broaddus scored a pair of goals in the first half and sealed their victory with three goals in the final half. Lincoln ends their season with a 5-8-1 overall record.
