Box Score Lincoln University, PA – James Stewart (Washington, DC/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) had 15 of the Lions 30 bench points in a 69-47 CIAA Northern Divisional victory for The Lincoln University against Chowan on Wednesday, January 29^th in Manuel Rivero Hall.

The Lions held the Hawks to only eight field goals in the opening period, while shooting 40% from the field and making five three-pointers. Senior guard Justin Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS) paced Lincoln with 13 first half points on 5-of-9 made field goals. He made three shots from long range while junior forward Tony Efese (Spring Valley, NY/St. Joseph Regional HS) and senior guard George Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS) each had one made three-pointer for the Lions.

With a 31-24 lead at the half, Lincoln's bench carried the Lions to a much needed victory after a two game skid for the Lions. Sophomore guard James Stewart (Washington, DC/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) led the offense with 13 points on 4-of-5 made shots as the Lions bench outscored the Hawks 26-12 in the final period. Stewart dished out four assists and made three shots from behind the arc. George Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS), Tony Efese (Spring Valley, NY/St. Joseph Regional HS) and junior guard Demetrius Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Milford Mill HS) all hit three-pointers in the second half for Lincoln. Their lead expanded to double-digits and the Lions cruised to a 69-47 win.

Senior guard Derrick Washington (Washington, DC/Coolidge SHS) recorded a career-high nine assists, while freshman forward Timothy McKenzie (Central Islip, NY/Central Islip HS) had a career-high eight points and recorded a game-high nine rebounds for Lincoln. Justin Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS) and James Stewart (Washington, DC/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) both had 15 points and George Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS) finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Lions nailed 11 three-pointers against Chowan, marking the third time in the last four games that they were able to make 11+ shots from behind the arc. James Stewart (Washington, DC/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) and Justin Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS) each hit three against while Tony Efese (Spring Valley, NY/St. Joseph Regional HS) and George Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS) both had two.

Lincoln won their second conference divisional game of the season and moves into third place in the standings with a 14-5 overall record, 6-4 CIAA conference, and 2-2 CIAA North record. The Lions will host Virginia State University on Saturday, February 1^st at 4p.m. in their next game.
