Lincoln, PA – Doug Cook (Dania Beach, FL/University School of Nova SE University) threw for a season-high 240 yards completing 19 of 36 attempts and rushed for 59 yards, but the Lions fell to Livingstone 35-7 in their home opener on Saturday, September 27
th.
The Lions produced 371 yards of total offense with 131 yards rushing and 240 yards passing. The 131 yards rushing was the first time Lincoln topped 100-yards since the 2011 season against Bowie State.
Asher Watlington (Amityville, NY/Amityville HS) had a team-high 59 rushing yards on 10 carries while
Doug Cook (Dania Beach, FL/University School of Nova SE University) added 52 yards on the ground.

Akeem Jordan (Washington, DC/Carroll HS) for 77 yards with a touchdown, four to
Asher Watlington (Amityville, NY/Amityville HS) for 17 yards, and three to
Anthony Green (Chester, PA/Upper Darby HS) for 61 yards.
Lincoln's
Kyle Jaski (Escondido, Calif./Kenwood HS) netted 116 yards on three punts including an impressive 50-yard boot.
Defensively, the Lions had four sacks led by Gavin Lamkin's two while
Elijah Douglas (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington HS) and
Andrew Bone (Inglewood, CA/Washington Prep HS) each had one sack on the Livingstone quarterback.
Brion Robinson (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) anchored the Lions defense with 14 tackles including 13 solo tackles.
Dawan Marzett (Los Angeles, CA/Westchester HS) and
Wadel Louis (Miami, FL/North Miami Beach HS) both had eight tackles and
Joshua Wilson (Hayward, CA/Haywood HS) added six solo tackles.
Livingstone took an early 21-0 lead over the Lions in the first half. The Lions clawed back with 2:28 remaining in the second quarter. Beginning at their own 25-yard line, the offense completed five first downs and continued their drive with two Livingstone defensive penalties.
Doug Cook (Dania Beach, FL/University School of Nova SE University) capped the 19 play, 75-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown toss with 29 seconds left. Cook connected with
Akeem Jordan (Washington, DC/Carroll HS) second before the half cutting into the Blue Bears lead. The Lions trailed 21-7 at the end of the first half. Livingstone scored 14 points in the fourth quarter taking down Lincoln 35-7.
The Lincoln University Lions drop to 1-3 and will travel to Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC on October 5
th for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
