Cole’s Double-Double Powers Lincoln Over University of Sciences, 61-55

Box Score Philadelphia, PA – Lincoln's Will Cole (Newark, NJ/Cesar Chavez HS) scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds leading the Lions to a 61-55 victory over University of Sciences on Tuesday, November 19 in Morgan Arena.

Derrick Washington (Washington, DC/Coolidge SHS) led the bench with 11 points and Stefan Whittingham (Fort Lauderdale, FL/Fort Lauderdale HS) added 10 points and three rebounds for Lincoln.

In a defensive battle between both teams, the Lions were able to pick up their first road victory of the season and a key factor was their ability to make free-throws. The Lions shot 87% (20-23) from the line, holding off the Devils in the final moments of the game. Will Cole (Newark, NJ/Cesar Chavez HS) made all seven of his attempts while George Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS), Stefan Whittingham (Fort Lauderdale, FL/Fort Lauderdale HS), and Derrick Washington (Washington, DC/Coolidge SHS) each went 4-5 from the free-throw line.

The Lions scored 20 points off of 17 University of Sciences' turnovers and also outscored the Devils in the paint, 28-20. Will Cole (Newark, NJ/Cesar Chavez HS) was 5-7 shooting from the field and had a game-high two steals with a block. Stefan Whittingham (Fort Lauderdale, FL/Fort Lauderdale HS) scored a career-high 10 points on 3-4 shooting from the field.

Lincoln's defense produced a season-high four blocks against the Devils. Tony Efese (Spring Valley, NY/St. Joseph Regional HS) led with two blocks while Cole and Whittingham had one each.

The Lions improve to 2-1 overall. Their next game is on Saturday, November 23 at 4 p.m. against Wilmington University.
