Lions Soccer Dominate Valley Forge Christian, 10-0

Box Score Phoenixville, PA - The Lions exploded for a season-high 10 goals against Valley Forge Christian College on Tuesday, October 8th in Phoenixville, PA. Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) led Lincoln with a goal in the 48th minute and also had an assist.
 
Lincoln dominated the match with 29 shot attempts to Valley Forge Christian's two attempts. The Lions had 17 in the first period and 12 in the second period controlling the momentum.
 
Tara O'Brien (Twickenham London, UK/St. Mark's Catholic School) scored Lincoln's first goal in the 12th minute and Dena Ingraham (Nassau, Bahamas/Kingsway Academy) followed with the game's second goal in the 13th minute.
 
Christian Harris (Rochester, NY/The Aquinas Institute) netted the next two goals for the Lions extending the lead to 4-0. Harris scored two goals in approximately 67 seconds on the defense. In nine matches thus far, Christian Harris (Rochester, NY/The Aquinas Institute) leads the Lions with 12 goals scored.
 
Three more goals were scored in the first period as Lincoln went ahead 7-0. Tamar Greene scored in the 28th minute, Alanna Van Ness (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway HS) scored a goal in the 39th minute off a Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) assist, and Averri Glenn (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway HS) made the score 7-0 with a goal in the 42nd minute.
 
In the second period, Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) followed her early assist with a goal in the 48th minute. In the 51st minute, Cierra Bean (Penacook, N.H./New Hampton HS) joined her teammates with a goal and Haley Hendricks (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) closed the match with a goal in the 59th minute.
 
Nine Lions recorded goals in their biggest win of the season. Goalkeeper Chloe Grice (Lancashire, UK/Runshaw HS) had her third shutout of the season against Valley Forge Christian College.
 
The Lincoln University women's soccer team improve to 5-3-1. The Lions will return to the field on October 10th against Penn State-McKeesport at 4 p.m.
