Harris Nets 19th Goal Against NYIT

Box Score Westbury, NY – Christian Harris (Rochester, NY/The Aquinas Institute) netted her 19th goal of the season in the 86th minute, but The Lincoln University dropped their final match of the 2013 season to New York Institute of Technology on the road, 4-1 on Tuesday, October 29.

The Lions posted 10 shots to NYIT's 26 attempts in their season finale. Goalkeeper Chloe Grice (Lancashire, UK/Runshaw HS) recorded seven saves in the first period and two in the second to lead the Lions defensively.

Christian Harris (Rochester, NY/The Aquinas Institute), Dena Ingraham (Nassau, Bahamas/Kingsway Academy), and Tamara Greene (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway HS) paced the Lions with three shots each against NYIT. Harris had two shots on goal while Ingraham, Greene, and Tara O'Brien (Twickenham London, UK/St. Mark's Catholic School) had one shot on goal apiece.

Trailing NYIT 4-0 late in the match, Haley Hendricks (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) set Christian Harris (Rochester, NY/The Aquinas Institute) up with a lovely assist for the Lions only goal of the match. In the 86th minute, Harris found the lower corner for her 19th goal of the season. Haley Hendricks (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) recorded her seventh assist of the season.

Despite the loss, the Lions had a record breaking 2013 season. Head Coach N. Fabio Boateng guided his team to the most season wins in The Lincoln University women's soccer history. The Lions conclude their season with an 8-5-2 overall record.
