LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University women's basketball team will seek its second consecutive win as the Lady Lions play host to Elizabeth City State in a CIAA Northern Division contest on Wednesday night at Manuel Rivero Gymnasium as the conference office has announced the game is the CIAA Marquee Match of the Week.

In this week's featured CIAA matchup, surprising Northern Division leader Elizabeth City State looks to run their winning streak to five games when they travel to Lincoln University to take on the Lady Lions, who like the Lady Vikings, are off to a 1-0 start in the Northern Division.
Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings: Since a 75-70 loss to Southern Division leader Fayetteville State on January 7, the Lady Vikings have reeled off four straight wins, including wins over Winston-Salem State and Chowan last week. Picked to finish fourth in the Northern Division in the preseason poll, ECSU has blown those predictions up, racing to a 14-3 record; far and away the best record among Northern Division teams. The Lady Vikings are 6-1 in the conference, including an impressive 96-86 win over Shaw, the defending Division II and CIAA champions. Elizabeth City State is led by a pair of versatile players in Shatara Jackson and Stephanie Harper. Jackson, a do-it-all guard, is the Vikings' leading scorer at 13.1 points per game. She is also among the conference leaders in assists, steals, and blocked shots. Harper, a 5-11 forward, leads the Lady Vikings in rebounding at 7.5 per game and is their second-leading scorer at 11.8 points per game.
Lincoln Lady Lions: Lincoln won their Northern Division opener on Saturday, edging Bowie State by one point on the road. The Lady Lions have had to do it without leading scorer Denise Moore, who went down with an injury in December. In her absence, forward
Tahlar McIntosh (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Alvernia HS) has stepped up to lead the Lady Lions. McIntosh, a 5-8 forward, is averaging 12.9 points and 6.6 rebounds. Junior guard
Cynthia Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) adds 12.4 points and 3.2 assists for the Lady Lions.
