Box Score PHILADELPHIA  — The Lincoln University volleyball team began its season on Thursday night with a 3-0 loss against Chestnut Hill College at the Sorgenti Arena.
 
Chestnut Hill (2-4) won the match with scores of 25-8, 25-16, 25-20.
 
Cynthia Johnson (Randallstown, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) paced the offense with three kills, while Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute), Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside HS) and Erin Rucker (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights HS) each had two. Erica McClain (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett HS) added three assists. Tarayja Brooks (Kennett Square, PA/Kennett HS) led the way defensively with 10 digs.
 
Lincoln (0-1) looks for its first win on the young season 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 9 at Manual Rivero Gymnasium as the Lady Lions open CIAA Northern Division play against Elizabeth City State.
