Lady Lions fight hard in loss to Lady Panthers

Cynthia Johnson had five kills and eight digs in the loss to Virginia Union
Box Score RICHMOND, Va. – The Lincoln University volleyball team stepped back into CIAA Northern Division play on Thursday night as the Lady Lions dropped a tough 3-0 decision to Virginia Union University.
 
Lincoln (0-7 overall, 0-6 CIAA) couldn't hold off Virginia Union in the opening set, falling, 26-24, and dropped the next two sets 25-20 and 25-17.
 
Briana McKellery (Odenton, MD/Arundel HS) paced the Lady Lions offense with six kills, while Cynthia Johnson (Randallstown, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) and Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) each had five and four kills, respectively. Erica McClain (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett HS) recorded seven assists, and Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) finished with 11 digs.
 
Lions returns to action 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24 in Bowie, Md., to take on Bowie State University.
