Lady Lions to open season at Pitts.-Johnstown

2012 Lincoln Women's Soccer Schedule

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa
. – With the addition of five new student-athletes, the Lincoln University women's soccer team will play its first game of the season 5 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Pitts-Johnstown.
 
The Lady Lions will be looking for a fresh start after ending last season 1-11-1
 
N. Fabio Boateng, who enters his third season as head coach, said he is excited about the upcoming season.  2011 team leading scorer, sophomore Tara O'Brien (Twickenham London, UK/St. Mark's Catholic School) returns this season.  O'Brien and her returning teammates will have five new student-athletes.  They are freshmen Clariece Bryant (Bear, Del/Glasgow HS.), Haley Hendricks (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS), Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) (San Diego, Calif./Madison HS), Audrey Smylie (Baltimore, MD/Western HS) (Baltimore, Md.) and Urzula Koczdadaj (Poland).
  
Bryant was the starting Goalkeeper in high school.  Hendricks, a midfielder, was a three-year starter in high school. She helped her team reach the semifinals in the Butch Lee Memorial Tournament as well as the Avocado West League Championship. Woodruff, a four-time high school All-Star, led her team in scoring two straight years and was named season MVP. Smylie, who plays forward and midfielder, also received MVP honors in high school.  Forward Urzula Koczdadaj brings her scoring talents and international experience to Lincoln University.
 
After opening the season at Pitts.-Johnstown, Lincoln travels on Sunday to Washington Adventist. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
