LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - The Lincoln University Lions men's cross country team opens its season at home at 3:15 p.m., in the “Battle of the First Kick-Off.”
Rafeal returns for his second season as head coach. The Lions finished fifth in the CIAA Championship in Cary, N.C. last season. Despite losing
Tarem Cannonier (Whiteplains, N.Y./Woodlands HS) to graduation, the Lions show plenty of promise with returning key student-athletes.
Returning for the Lions is team captain and junior
Wilson Bailey (Englewood, NJ/Dwight Morrow HS) (Englewood, N.J.). Bailey was named to the 2011 All-CIAA team. Joining Bailey are sophomores
Abraham Noel (North Lauderdale, Fla./Fort Lauderdale HS) (Sunrise, Fla.) and
Kyle Edwards (Bloomfield, CT/Bloomfield HS) (Bloomfield, Conn.) who are more experienced.
Edwards said he and his teammates will do well this season.
“I'm very confident in us,” Edwards said. “I can't wait to get the season started.
The Lions following meet is the University of Wilmington Invitational in Wilmington, Del. which is scheduled for 8 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 8.
