Box Score 2 OXFORD, Pa. – The Lincoln University softball team returned to action on Wednesday as the Lady Lions dropped a non-conference doubleheader to West Chester, 11-0, and 21-0, at Old Gold Field at the Oxford Athletic Association Sports Complex.
In the first game,
Erin Rucker (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights HS) (0-13) took the loss in pitching five innings. She gave up 11 runs (five earned) on 12 hits with three walks and a strikeout.
Kate Skokowski (3-0) earned the win in working five innings. She scattered four hits and fanned seven.
The Golden Rams (18-13) plated a run in the first inning, two in second and exploded for eight in the fifth to get the win.
Mariah Liberty (Waterbury, Vt./Harwood Union HS),
Avree Morton (Uniondale, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS),
Alexis Randall (Fort Washington, Md./Gwynn Park HS) and
Jasmine Dabney (Baltimore, Md./New Town HS) each had a hit for the Lady Lions (0-14).
In the nightcap, the Lincoln bats went silent in a 21-0 loss.
Ashley Owes (0-1) started for the Lady Lions and lasted one inning. She surrendered 13 runs on seven hits with seven walks. Rucker pitched four innings in relief.
Kim Murl (5-5) picked up the win for the Golden Rams. She worked five innings and gave up one hit and struck out four.
Rucker collected the lone hit for Lincoln.
