Box Score LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. –
Cynthia Johnson (Randallstown, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) paced the Lincoln University volleyball team with 11 kills, but the Lady Lions had their Senior Day spoiled by Bowie State on Saturday morning as the Lady Bulldogs took the CIAA Northern Division match, 3-0, at Manuel Rivero Gymnasium.
Bowie State, which lost 3-2 to the Lincoln on Sept. 24, won the match on Saturday with scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-21.
Johnson had a .368 hitting percentage and also had four digs to go with the 11 kills.
Briana McKellery (Odenton, MD/Arundel HS) finished with five kills and had a pair of blocks.
Erica McClain (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett HS) added 18 assists and eight digs and
Erika Bell (Owings Mills, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute HS) recorded a team-high 14 digs.
The Lady Bulldogs (7-22 overall, 2-14 CIAA, 1-9 CIAA North) had a balanced offensive attack as Briana Flowers led the way with seven kills and four digs. Alexis Flowers had five kills, while Kasi Eisenzimmer recorded 18 assists. Marissa Martinez paced Bowie State defensively with seven digs.
Lady Lions Notebook: Prior to the game, Lincoln recognized four seniors during Senior Day –
Erika Bell (Owings Mills, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute HS),
Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside HS),
Jasmine Graves (Bay Shore, N.Y./Brentwood HS) and
Erin Rucker (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights HS)…The Lady Lions finished the season 4-17 overall, 1-15 CIAA and 1-9 CIAA Norh…Lincoln was looking to finish the season with five wins – the most since 2010 when the team went 5-26.
