Lincoln fell to Virginia State, 3-0, on Thursday night in a CIAA Northern Division showdown
Box Score LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa.  — The Lincoln University volleyball team fought valiantly, but fell short in the end as Virginia State won the CIAA Northern Division match, 3-0, on Thursday night at Manuel Rivero Hall.

The Lady Lions (1-12 overall, 1-10 CIAA, 1-4 CIAA North) started slowly by dropping the first set, 25-11, and the second set, 25-9.  The Lady Lions began to gain momentum in the third set and were on the brink of forcing another set.  However, Aubree Parker's final kill ended all hopes for the Lady Lions by securing the third set, 26-24, and the match for the Lady Trojans (8-8, 7-2, 2-1).

Briana McKellery (Odenton, MD/Arundel HS) finished the evening with four kills, while Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) registered eight digs.

The Lady Lions take on a pair of CIAA Northern Division foes in as many days as Lincoln travels 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7 against Elizabeth City State, before facing Chowan on Monday.
