WILMINGTON, Del.  — The Lincoln University women's soccer team, playing in its first home game since the beginning of September, was edged by Washington Adventist, 2-0, on Friday afternoon at Horizon Park.
 
Lincoln (0-7-1) had a chance to break the scoreless tie in the opening minutes as Cierra Bean (Penacook, N.H./New Hampton HS)'s shot banged off the crossbar.
 
In the 31^st minute, the Shock had their opportunity as Daniell Panuccio found herself on a breakaway but her shot went right of the goal, keeping the game scoreless. Moments later, Katie Yueuz also missed a wide open attempt.
 
Delphine Ngwatezeh was on the end of A Kelsey Sheehan-Wright pass in the 40^th minute to give Washington Adventist (6-2) a 1-0 lead.
 
A Tara O'Brien (Twickenham London, UK/St. Mark's Catholic School) shot in the 42^nd minute hit off the crossbar as the Lady Lions went into the break trailing 1-0.
 
Playing shorthanded for the remaining 28 minutes because of a red card given to Kelly Thibeau (Laurel, Del./Laurel Senior HS), the Shock took advantage in the 80^th minute as Ashley Weisenberg scored on a penalty kick to give Washington Adventist a 2-0 lead.
 
Sima Sinforosa had 11 saves in goal for Lincoln, while Tashika Russell finished with three saves for the Shock.
 
The Lady Lions continue their two-game homestand by playing host 4 p.m., to Bloomfield at Oxford High School.
