Lincoln drops CIAA Northern Division match to ECSU

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C.  —
The Lincoln University volleyball team took to the road on Friday night and dropped a hard fought 3-0 decision to Elizabeth City State in a CIAA Northern Division battle.
 
The Lady Lions (0-19 overall, 0-10 CIAA) lost by scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-12.
 
Cynthia Johnson (Randallstown, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) and Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside HS) paced the Lincoln offense with three kills each as DuBose also added five assists. Erika Bell (Owings Mills, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute HS) led the defense with eight digs, while Erin Rucker (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights HS) had five.
 
Whitney Green and Morghan Stallings led Elizabeth City State with 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Regan Simpson added 12 assists and Oasis Ellison had nine digs.
 
Lincoln returns to action in a tri-match on Saturday as the Lady Lions take on Chowan at 10 a.m., in a CIAA Northern Division tilt and the University of the District Columbia at 1 p.m. Both matches will be played in Murfreesboro, N.C.
