HAMPTON, Va. — The Lincoln University volleyball team continued its three-day road trip by dropping a pair of 3-0 matches to Winston-Salem State and Livingstone College on Saturday in the CIAA Roundup at the Boo Williams Sportsplex.
In the opening match, Lincoln (0-13 overall, 0-4 CIAA) fell to Winston-Salem State with scores of 25-18, 25-12, 25-10.
Erin Rucker (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights HS) paced the Lincoln offense with four kills and four digs.
Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside HS) had eight assists.
Zakiya Williams (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco Center for the Arts) and
Jasmine Graves (Bay Shore, N.Y./Brentwood HS) each chipped in with four digs.
Avoni Symour and Lauren Aikens each had six kills to lead Winston-Salem State.
In the second match, Livingstone defeated Lincoln by scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-15.
Williams and Rucker led the way for the Lady Lions with five kills each, while
Cynthia Johnson (Randallstown, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) had four. DuBose finished with 11 assists and four digs. Graves had a team-high 10 digs to lead the way defensively, while
Erika Bell (Owings Mills, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute HS) added eight digs.
Phylicia Egbuna led Livingstone with 15 kills, while Iman Isom had a match-high 20 digs.
The Lady Lions wrap up play at the CIAA Roundup on Sunday against Fayetteville State and Shaw at the Boo Williams Sportsplex.
