LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. (April 9, 2011) — As Lincoln University hosted its first-ever CIAA Round-up in any sport, the Lincoln University women's tennis team dropped three tough matches on Saturday afternoon.

LU's best effort came against Virginia Union at Avon Grove High School. Leslie Reid-Bey (Sickelerville, N.J./Winslow Township HS) and Umiquewa Rogers both picked up 8-6 wins against the Lady Panthers from the  No. 2 and No. 3 singles spots respectively.

Reid-Bey was especially impressive as she persevered through back troubles that nearly forced her to forfeit the match. After taking an injury timeout, she held on in the final games for an uplifting win. Rogers, meanwhile, continues to show consistency.

Up Next
