LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. (March 11, 2011) — Lincoln tennis this season has several reasons to shout out.
Maturity and experience set the stage for the Lincoln men's team. Returning numero uno, Adeduton Osho is ready and set to leave another mark on the VSU tennis courts, with the season beginning Saturday with the first of three Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Round-ups. He can be a threat to any member of the other seasoned CIAA schools' best players.
Junior Michael Sangster (Belize, C.A/Sacred Heart College) and his brother Stephen as well as Alfayo Michira (Kisii, Kenya/Cardinal Otunga), Darius Gregory (Hyattsville Md./Central HS) are seasoned players for lincoln. The program welcomes Mark Chikwem (Oxford, PA/Oxford Area) as the newest member of the men's team.
The women's team welcomes back the singles players Stephanie Henry (Pleasantville, N.J./Pleasantville) and Lesley Reid-Bey who were awesome winners by themselves and together created the winningest doubles team in Lincoln University history last season. Still a young duo with Henry a junior and Reid-Bey a sophomore, they will look to build on their history-making first season together. Uniquewaa Rogers, a freshman will take the third spot to start the season followed by returning players Mellyssa Diggs (Chester, Pa./Chester HS) and Sherlina Holland (Baltimore, Md./Northwestern HS). Rounding out the women's team is another freshmen Shari Davis (Clinton, Md./Gwynn Park HS).
