PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Four Lincoln University men's basketball players reached double figures in scoring, but it wasn't enough as the Lions fell to Holy Family, 77-71, on Tuesday night at Campus Center.
Justin Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS) and
Denzel Mooney (Baltimore, Md./Western School of Technology) each poured in 17 points, while
Kenny Sharpe (Chester, Pa./Elite Academy) added 16 points.
Kyle Aiken (Randolph, NJ/Randolph HS) came off the bench to score 10 points and
Chris Kinney (Washington, DC/Theodore Roosevelt SHS) pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds as Lincoln (5-5) was 27-of-70 shooting for 39 percent.
The Tigers led 32-25 at the break, but Lincoln used a 35-22 run to open the second half to take a 60-54 after a
Justin Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS) 3-pointer with 6:10 remaining.
However, Holy Family dominated the final six minutes by out-scoring Lincoln, 23-11.
Alberto Munoz led Holy Family (5-4) with 17 points and Angel Ayala had 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Khiry Hankins recorded 14 points and Rashaad Sneed chipped in with 11 as the Tigers were 23-of-48 from the floor for 48 percent.
Lincoln concludes the 2011 portion of its schedule 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16 at Central State University.
