Bowie State too much in doubleheader

BOWIE, Md — Strong pitching stymied the Bowie State offense Thursday afternoon in a doubleheader against the Bulldogs.

After finishing a solid 2-3 at the CIAA Round-Up Tournament last weekend and showcasing an opportunistic offense, the Lincoln University softball team could not muster many threats, losing both games in their with Bowie State, 11-1, and 12-0.

With the losses, LU drops to 2-5.GAME 1

The Lady Lions got off to a quick start after Tanina Cook (Landover, MD, Charles Herbert Flowers) doubled to left, scoring Sasha Evans (Hampton, VA, Phoebus). Bowie State would answer right back. Over the first three innings, they scored six runs.

The Bulldogs were led by Kristen Lee and Annette Makle with 3 and 2 runs batted in respectively.

Taylor Hines (Beachwood, OH, Beachwood) pitched the whole outing, allowing 11 hits.
