Erin Rucker (Shalher Heights, Shalher Heights ) recorded both of Lincoln's hits as the Lady Lions in this five-inning contest. The Hawks scored 15 runs over the first three innings, including seven in the first and eight in the third. Hines took the loss, allowing three earned runs in 2/3 of an inning.

Rucker had another multi-hit game, but the offense was much more balanced than it was in the opener. Collene Cumberbatch (Piscataway, NJ, Piscataway ) and Shira Miller (Seattle, Wash., Roosevelt)opened the bottom half of the innings and would work their way around the bases on past balls. Cumberbatch scored on one with Mariah Liberty (Vermont)at the plate. Later in the at-bat, she singled in Miller. That cut the Lady Broncos lead to 4-2 following FSU scoring two runs in each of the first two innings.
Hines and Rucker each surrendered six runs in 2 2/3 innings of work, but the LU defense was much more sound, not committing an error.
Lincoln 7, Saint Augustine's 5
Lincoln scored three runs in each of the first three innings before blowing the game open with a three-run sixth and holding on for 7-5 win.
Sasha Evans (Hampton, VA, Phoebus) walked as the second batter of the game and came around to score on an error by the catcher. In the second, Liberty's ground out to short scored Rucker, who had walked to start the inning.
The momentum continued through the third with Chanelle Harris (Philadelphia, PA, Penn Wood) singling and coming around to score several batters later.
In the fourth, Liberty and Collene Cumberbatch (Piscataway, NJ, Piscataway )sandwiched walks around an Erika Bell (Owings Mills, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute HS) strike out. Liberty scored on a wild pitch with Harris at the plate. Harris then singled in Cumberbatch. Finally, Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, MD, Parkside) earned her first RBI by plating Hines, who walked earlier.
Saint Augustine's countered with three of its own, but Cumberbatch scored on a wild pitch in the seventh to provide insurance.
Hines earned the win by allowing just two earned runs in a complete game.
Lincoln 9, Livingstone 1
The Lady Blue Bears' lone run came in third, and for a while it looked as though it would hold up, but two runs in the fourth and seven in the fifth, capped by a three-run shot by Tanina Cook (Landover, MD, Charles Herbert Flowers)got Lincoln its second win in a row.
DuBose singled in Cook for Lincoln's first run in the fourth, and because of an error by the shortstop, she too would come around to score.
The game was shortened to five innings. Hines again got the win.
Johnson C. Smith 20, Lincoln 3
The Lady Golden Bulls used 11 runs over the first two innings to get the win. Harris' RBI single in the second was Lincoln's only RBI. DuBose and Liberty had two hits apiec,e both singles. Hines lasted only 1/3 of an inning and allowing four runs before Rucker pitched the remainder of the game.
