Results

NEWARK, Del. — Lincoln's 'A' and 'B' 4x400 teams went back-to-back, aiding in the LU's second-place finish at the Thomson Invitational.

The 74 team points eclipsed Salisbury's 73 for silver. East Stroudsburg (179.50) claimed the Division II & III team title. There were 13 schools in the field.

Matthew Coston (Brooklyn, NY), Anthony Bishop (Philadelphia, PA, Martin Luther King), Lewis (Brooklyn, NY, William Grady (NY)) and Randy Dawkins (Jamaica) beat fellow Lions Alex Wright (Brooklyn, NY, John Dewey), Todd Mason, Jr. (San Diego, CA, Edgewood), Andre Wilkinson (St. Michael's, Barbados, William Grady (NY))and Diedre Mcloud by .04 by finishing in 3:25.64. They each defeated third-place Kean by more than five seconds.

Lincoln dominated the long jump behind first- and second-place finishes by Aaron Hunter (Sharon Hill, PA, Academy Park) and Jared Randle (Kanakee, IL, Kanakee). The two actually bested Division I competition with leaps of 7.17 meters and 6.84 meters, respectively. Adam Mason (Freeport, NY, Freeport) was 10th at 6.14 meters.

McLeod, a junior, bested Doug Bonner of Kean for first in the 500 meters, completing the two and a half laps in 1:07.44. McLeod actually would've wont the Division I race as well, as Dylan Wenik of St. Joseph's 1:08:21 earned first. William Andrew (Danbury, CT/Danbury) was 10th at 1:13.05.

Second and third-place efforts in the 60-meter dash gave LU 14 team points. Bishop finished in 7.04, barely edging teammate the 7.08 mark by Rushane Scott (Allentown, PA, William Allen). LU's Lewis placed 11th with a time of 7.29.

Wright, a junior, earned a pair of thirds for six team points apiece. The first came in the 200-meter dash (22.77) and the 400-meters (50.88). Teammates Dawkins and Todd Mason finished fifth and seventh, respectively in the 400 with Wilkinson just out of the top 10 in 12th.
