LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — The Lincoln University women's volleyball team played increasingly better as its match with Elizabeth City State went along, but the Lady Vikings showed why they are considered to be the barometer for the rest of the CIAA, defeating Lincoln, 3-0 (15-25, 17-25, 23-25).
After two quick games to start the match, the Lady Lions mounted a challenge led by Charity Hart (Richmond, Va./Highland Springs), who recorded a team-high five kills, the first time this year that she paced Lincoln. Cynthia Johnson (Randallstown, Md/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute), Noel Webster (Hagerston, Md./Elkton) and Nekia Morris (San Bernadino, Calif./San Gorgonio) each offered three.
Lia Hubbard (Farrell, Pa./Farrell ) once again led LU assists. Webster was LU's best server on the evening, recording three aces.
With the loss, Lincoln drops to 2-17 (2-3 in the CIAA North) while first-place ECSU improves to 13-2 and runs its winning streak to 11 matches.
