LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa.-- Cynthia Johnson (Randallstown, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) led Lincoln University's volleyball team Tuesday night with nine kills competing with Goldey-Beacom College. This is her career high as well as the first time she has led the Lady Lions in a match. However, this would not be enough to push Lincoln to victory, falling 3-0 (14-25, 18-25, 20-25).
LU tended to start each game well, however was unable to keep the Lightning from making a comeback. In the first frame, the Lady Lions staked claim to a 7-4 lead only to see GBC tie it at 8-8 and establish control from there. In the third frame Lincoln would lead 8-5, but the two would go back and forth before Goldey-Beacom took the lead for good at 19-18.
With four kills respectively, Nekia Morris (San Bernadino, Calif./San Gorgonio) and Erika Bell (Owings Mills, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) were solid accomplices to Johnson. Bell also led the team with three digs.
