DuBose's 19 not enough versus Saint Aug's

RALEIGH, N.C. — Sharay Dubose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) had 19 points in a losing effort against Saint Augustine's College Monday night as the Lady Falcons used a dominant second half to win 83-57.

The Lady Lions were within range at halftime, trailing just 39-29. Lincoln ended the first half on a 5-0 run capped by two made free throws by Sasha Evans (Hampton, VA/Phoebus) (Hampton, Va./Phoebus).

However, the torrid shooting enabled the Lady Falcons to see the lead grow. After showing 54 percent in the opening period, the Lady Falcons shot 58 percent in the second half and 56 percent from the behind the arc..

Dubose's game-high 19 points could not carry an LU offense that did not have another player in double digits. By contrast, Saint Augustine's had three players, Allison Sikes (17), Keyona Bryant (15) and Crystal McCaffity (11).

St. Augustine's improves to 5-6 overall and 3-3 in CIAA while LU drops to 2-8.

LU hosts Fayetteville State Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Manual Rivero Hall. Lincoln has not played a home game since Nov. 30, a 55-52 win against Livingstone.
