ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Damian Hyman (Bronx, N.Y./Harry S. Truman) had a career-high tying 25 points Wednesday night in a 95-74 Lincoln University loss to Elizabeth City State at the Vaughan Center in Division II college basketball action.
It equaled his output against Holy Family on Nov. 25, 2008. Against the Vikings Wednesday, he was an impressive 9-of-16 from the field which included a 4-of-10 effort from beyond the arc. Hyman also had nine rebounds, tied for a team high with Shawn Rodgers (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep).
Twenty-one of Hyman's 25 points came in the second half as LU tried to recuperate from a 35-27 deficit at the intermission.
Sophomore guard Darren Clark (Boston, Mass./Largo, Md.) had 21 points and five assists. Also in double figures for LU was Dante Blanton-Holcombe (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar). His 11 moves him within 43 points of 1,000 for his career.
Angelo Sharpless led five Vikings players in double figures with 22 points. He also had a game-high 10 rebounds for the double-double.
With the loss, Lincoln falls to 2-13 while Elizabeth City State improves to 9-7.
