CHARLOTTE, N.C. —The Lincoln University women's basketball team fell to Johnson C. Smith University, 67-52, Saturday night at the Brayboy Gymnasium.
Sharay Dubose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) led LU with 16 points. She also had six rebounds, as LU falls to 2-11 on the season. Danielle Smallwood (Philadelphia, PA/West Catholic) (Philadelphia, Pa./West Catholic) had nine points and seven rebounds.
JCSU improved to 12-3 with the win
The Lady Lions held a brief lead when Dubose opened the scoring with a 3-pointer, but the Lady Golden Bulls went on a 9-0 run beginning with three-minutes remaining in the first period to stretch its lead to 35-21. Dubose ended the rally with a made free throw, but Trya Breaux would make one as well for a 36-22 JCSU advantage at the break.
Eleven of Dubose's 16 points came in the opening period.
Brittane Neely paced the Lady Golden Bulls with 15 points and 10 boards, team highs.
Lincoln travels to Salisbury, N.C. to play Livingstone College Monday. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.
