, PAA career-high 23 points from junior guard DeJuana Mosley (Chester, PA/Chester) (Chester, Pa./Chester) was not enough as Chowan University rallied from a 10-point first-half deficit to defeat Lincoln University on its home floor, 69-59.

 

With the loss, the Lady Lions drop to 2-10 while the Hawks improve to 7-7.

 

Sharay Dubose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) scored 17 points. Mosley also had six rebounds to pace LU on the glass in the losing effort.

 

Mosley's 23 set a new career high. She had 22 three times, most recently against the College of St. Rose on Nov. 16, 2008.

 

Talaya Lynch led CU with 16 points, one of three Hawks in double figures. Naja Harris, in addition to 10 points, had a team-high four rebounds.

 

Lincoln dominated early, continuing to play well after a tremendous second half against Fayetteville Saturday in which LU nearly erased a 31-point deficit. Mosley had 15 points at the intermission while Dubose had 10.

 

Overall, Lincoln shot 52 percent in the first half and led 35-30 after being up by as much as 10.  At 21-11 with 11:48 remaining in the opening period following, Mosley got a tough lefty lay-up to fall.

 

In the second half, LU shot just 23 percent. Harris knocked down a 3 at 18:34 for a 38-35 CU lead and an 8-0 run. The Hawks would not trail again.

 

Lincoln continues its CIAA schedule Saturday with a road games against Johnson C. Smith and Livingstone Monday. In the earlier meetings this year, JCSU defeated LU, 58-48 on Nov. 28. Lincoln defeated Livingstone, 55-52 behind a last-second lay-up by Dubose, the Lady Lions' last win.
