Quick strikes lead women's soccer to 2-1 win

Johnstown, Pa. — In a game dominated by the defenses, Lincoln combined for two goals in less than three minutes for a 2-1 win over Ohio Valley at the Pitt-Johnstown Tournament Sunday afternoon. The Lady Lions improve to 2-3 on the season.

The game was scoreless until Stephanie Anderson (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area HS) (Coatesville, Pa.) scored in the 70th minute off her left foot. Charlise Cunningham (Long Island, NY/Bayshore) (Bay Shore, N.Y.) also got one by OVU keeper Abbi Menear in the 73th minute for a 2-0 advantage. Ohio Valley responded two-three minutes later when Charity Deigle converted on a penalty kick. However, the Lincoln defense, led by goalie Brittany Johnson (Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro)'s (Glassboro, N.J.) nine saves, held on for the win.

Nina Cook (Landover, Md.) and Collene Cumberbatch (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway ) (Piscataway, N.J.) anchored the bank line from further attacks.
