LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Quarterback
Kareem Dennis (Philadelphia, PA/Lincoln) (Philadelphia, Pa.) is a finalist for the Heritage Sports Radio (HSRN) Player of the Week following his play off the bench Saturday in Lincoln's 41-20 win over Cheyney at Charles Martin Memorial Stadium at Northeast High School in Philadelphia.
Each week HSRN will honor the top-performances on the gridiron for Division I FCS and Div. II and to add to the excitement, fans across the country are the ones that get into the action by casting votes for who they think had the top performance.
Fans across the country can cast their vote by visiting HSRN.Com today through tomorrow (Tuesday-Sept.1) at 6pm. The other nominees include
Carlton Hill of Miles,
Quintez Smith of Shaw and
Kevin O'Brien of West Virginia State.
Dennis came off the bench for the Lions' fifth possession and immediately led the offense on an eight-play, 78 yard drive culminating in a 35-yard touchdown strike to freshman wide out
Marcus Coston (Brooklyn, N.Y.). That completion was part of an 8-for-8 start for 134 yards.
Overall, Dennis finished 11 for 21 for 139 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. With his efforts, Lincoln earned its first win over an NCAA-eligible opponent since it defeated Howard on Thanksgiving in 1959.
