MURFRESBORO, N.C. — The men suffered another close loss as they drop to 0-3. This time, Chowan prevailed in the final minutes for an 80-71 win.
Lincoln led several times throughout the night, but the Hawks dictated action. LU cut the deficit to 75-71 late, but CU free throws and a late turnover stretched to the final margin.
The Lions fall to 0-2 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and 0-3 overall.
In what's quickly becoming a trend,
Darren Clark (Boston, MA, Largo) once against paced Lincoln with 23 points, five boards and seven assists.
Hopefully a sign of things to come,
Dante Blanton-Holcombe (Baltimore, MD, Dunbar) emerged from his early season funk by offering16 points and seven rebounds and two assists.
Damian Hyman (Bronx, NY, Harry S. Truman) had six rebounds and eight points.
In a contrast to previous games, Lincoln converted its opportunities at the free-throw line, going 18 for 25 from the charity stripe. Clark made a living there, hitting 10 of his 13 attempts.
