Elizabeth City, N.C. — Nekia Morris (San Bernadino, CA, San Gorgonio) had six kills and a service ace in the season finale for the Lincoln volleyball team as she wrapped up an impressive freshman season, regularly a statistical leader in 2009.
Noel Webster (Hagerston, MD, Elkton) culminated her career by offering five kills on 12 swings for a team-leading .333 percentage.
Junior Lia Hubbard (Farrell, PA, Farrell ) contributed 11 assists and a Lincoln-leading seven digs.
Those individual efforts, though, were not enough against a Elizabeth City team that improved its record to 20-14 with a 25-12, 25-15, 25-11 sweep of the Lady Lions.
With the loss, Lincoln concludes the season with a 9-20 record, a two win improvement from the 7-21 campaign in 2008.
Heading in the right direction under Schannon Gamble, the program loses two seniors in Webster and Kenyatta Austin (NJ, I.C.H.S).
