LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Charity Hart (Richmond, VA, Highland Springs) led Lincoln with four kills against Virginia State in a match that head coach Schannon Gamble said was dominated by long rallies and maximum effort.
Like the first matchup between those teams, those rallies consistently went the way of the Lady Trojans. Lincoln dropped the contest 14-25, 10-25, 19-25.
Lia Hubbard (Farrell, PA, Farrell ) recorded Lincoln's four assists, and Erin Rucker (Shalher Heights, Shalher Heights ) had four of the team's five aces.
“I thought our girls hustled as hard if not harder than they have all year,” Gamble said. “I'm very proud of our girls. We just faced a very good team in Virginia State.”
With the loss, Lincoln falls to 8-19 on the year and host Bowie State Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at Manuel Rivero Hall.
