Lions show fight in loss to West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. The first two games surely did not go according to plan as Lincoln struggled to shake away the rust of an 11-day off period, but the Lady Lions showed resliency in a 4-25, 7-25, 17-25 loss Tuesday evening and gradually improved as the evening went along.

Nekia Morris (San Bernadino, CA, San Gorgonio), ever the consistent player, once again led Lincoln in kills with three, while Lia Hubbard (Farrell, PA, Farrell ) four assists. Hubbard added two kills, a number matched by Noel Webster (Hagerston, MD, Elkton) and Charity Hart (Richmond, VA, Highland Springs).

The loss drops Lincoln to 7-18 on the season but hope that a return to Manuel Rivero Hall brings better fortunes. The Lady Lions, who have not played at home since Sept. 22 against West Chester, will go after a season sweep of the Lady Panthers of Virginia Union. Lincoln won a 3-2 match in Richmond on Sept. 24.
