PETERSBURG, VA. (January 29, 2009) -- Bryant Leach (Philadelphia, PA/John Bartram) scored 15 points and Jabyron Wilson posted a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds, but it was not enough as the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team dropped a 61-56 decision to Virginia State Thursday night at Daniel Gym. Damian Hyman (Bronx, NY/Harry S. Truman) added 11 points and Darren Clark (Boston, MA/Largo) contributed nine points for Lincoln (6-13).

Virginia State overcame a 48-42 deficit with 10 minutes remaining to earn a split of the season series with Lincoln. Lincoln trailed, 57-56, with less than a minute remaining and the ball. However, Lincoln could not take the lead.

Lincoln returns to action Monday when it hosts Fayetteville State at 7:30 p.m.
